At the end of August 2006, Nikon announced the new D80 which replaced the popular D70s. The main difference between the D80 and the D70s is resolution (10 megapixel vs. 6 megapixel) and a new larger
LCD screen on the back of the camera. Nikon has increased the screen size from 2.0" to 2.5" and the screen resolution from 130,000 pixels to 230, 000 pixels.
Other differences include camera body size - the D80 is slightly smaller overall - and a switch from Compact Flash memory cards to SD memory cards.
Once the camera is properly set up, you simply set one f-stop for closeup shots and another for portraits. The camera's flash metering system automatically adjusts the flash output to ensure a proper exposure. You can also set the flash in manual mode if you prefer the precise exposure control of a manual flash system. |

PhotoMed offers the D80 as a complete clinical camera system. For dental photography, the Nikon D80 is available with two lens choices and two flash choices:
- the Sigma 105mm Macro Lens or the Nikon 105mm VR Macro Lens and
-
the Sigma EM-140 Macro Flash or the Nikon R1 Macro Flash. If you choose the Nikon R1 Macro flash, you should also check out our
R1 Dual Point Flash Bracket for the R1 flash.
Complete systems (camera, lens and flash) also include a 1GB memory card, USB memory card reader and a professional grade hard case. The case is designed to hold the camera completely assembled and well protected.
The complete camera system is pre-assembled and tested. It is shipped to you in the professional hard case with custom PhotoMed instructions for clinical use. The complete system also includes unlimited telephone/email technical support and loan equipment support if anything ever needs repair. Unlike other sources, we never charge for tech support or loan equipment (except shipping charges).
Accessories are too numerous to list here. PhotoMed carries everything you might need for your D80: memory cards, memory card readers, recreational lenses, etc. Give us a call and we'll help you decide which accessories will work best for you.
