PhotoMed is proud to introduce the latest additions to our digital dental camera lineup. The Canon A610 and A620 join the popular Canon G6 as the latest models to incorporate the PhotoMed Closeup Attachment Kit for balanced even illumination and stunning image quality.

The A610 is a five megapixel camera and the A620 is a seven megapixel camera. The combination of PhotoMed's custom macro lens and the built-in 4x optical zoom lens allow you to focus down to a field only 1.25" wide.

Canon's latest digital single lens reflex camera (D-SLR) creates
a new D-SLR category combining a full frame CMOS sensor with
a lightweight, compact magnesium alloy body. Let's briefly explain what a "full frame sensor" means for dental photography.

Tens of thousands of dentists are used to shooting clinical photographs with 35mm film. Certain magnifications became standards over the years, i.e., 1:1, 1:2 and 1:10. These magnifications allowed a dental office to maintain consistent image sizing through before and after photos and from patient
to patient. These magnifications were also based on the size of the 35mm film: 36mm wide (roughly 1 7/16 inches).

When the first D-SLR cameras appeared, they used capture chips (sensors) that were smaller than a frame of 35mm film - typically 2/3 that size of a frame of 35mm film. Wide angle lenses (for recreational use) were "less wide" and, for dental use, the magnifications that everyone was used to were not the same.

The Occlusal Contrasters are designed to simplify taking occlusal mirror views (the curved end lifts the lip away) and also prevents lips, nostrils and mustaches from appearing in the photo. The other end of the Occlusal Contraster can be used to “black-out” the background in lateral photos.
The Occlusal Contrasters are now available in adult and pedo sizes.

SPECIAL: purchase both adult and pedo sizes and save 10%.
During November 2005, you can save 10% on an assortment of 3 or more intraoral mirrors, retractors and Contrasters. Mix and match (3 or more) to create your perfect set and save 10% on each and every item.

Through the end of the year, Canon is offering some generous rebates on their most popular D-SLR cameras. Included are the EOS 20D and the EOS Digital Rebel XT. When you combine Canon's 100mm macro lens and ring light with the Canon EOS
20D, you are eligible for a $270 rebate! The Rebel XT with the
same lens and flash is eligible for $220!

You can save even more if you purchase eligible recreational
lenses at the same time. Call us at 800-998-7765 for more information and we can explain the Single - Double - Triple rules.
