The MF-R76 TTL macro flash is unique in that it is powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The battery can be recharged in the flash by an included USB-C cable or in the included USB charger. A fully charged battery yields approximately 500 flashes.

Canon MR-14EX II Macro Flash

The all-new Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II is ideal for EOS quality close-up photography when used in conjunction with one of Canon’s EF macro lenses. Redesigned as a perfect complement to contemporary digital SLR setups, it is the most advanced macro flash Canon has ever produced.

It has a maximum Guide No. of 34.4 ft./10.5m at ISO 100 and a twin-tube design where both flash tubes can be directed to fire independently or together. Sophisticated white LED focusing lamps and two forms of modeling lights make for easy and accurate previewing of lighting effects. Infinitely adjustable in any lighting condition with its illuminated dot-matrix LCD, the Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II has 12 custom functions and supports E-TTL wireless autoflash when linked with one or more Speedlite 600EX-RT flashes.

Canon's standard 60mm and 100mm macro lenses include a lip at the front of the lens that the MR-14EX II clips onto. If you are using the 100mm L macro lens, you need the Canon Macrolite 67 adapter which adds the mounting lip to the front of the lens. The MR-14EX II now features a 67mm filter thread that allows filters to be added to the front of the flash and a 67mm lens cap is included that clips onto the flash.

Canon MT-26EX Twin Light Macro Flash

The individual flash heads on the MT-26EX Twin Light allow for a wide range of positioning to help elliminate/minimize specular highlights on the subject. This is particularly handy for anterior photos which will be used by a dental lab for shade matching. Posterior shots and mirror shots can be tricky with this flash as the flash heads are farther from the lens than a ring flash. Uses 4 "AA" batteries - rechargeable batteries are recommended.

The Canon MT-26EX includes a mount for the flash heads that clips onto the end of the Canon 100mm and 60mm macro lenses. If you are using the Canon L 100mm IS macro lens, you also need the Macro Flash Adapter 67 which screws into the end of the lens and adds the mounting "lip".

Another mounting option is the PhotoMed R2-U Dual Point Flash Bracket (shown below with Canon MT-24EX). This bracket is designed to allow the Canon MT-26EX flash heads to be positioned next to the lens for intraoral mirror shots and posterior views. You can also turn the flash heads out to the side for esthetic anterior views, smile shots and lab communication.

Godox MF12 Wireless Flashes with XPro Transmitter and R2-U Bracket

The Godox MF12 flash is a compact flash that can be controlled wirelessly by a Godox flash transmitter. The Godox wireless system uses radio communication between the transmitter and flashes instead of optical communication. The Godox MF12 is the first small macro flash that features a built-in lithium-ion battery. Godox states
that the battery is good for approximately 500 flashes on a full charge. We offer the transmitter in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts and they work with all models of Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras.

The Godox MF12 System includes (2) Godox MF12 flashes, a Godox XPro Transmitter and a dual USB charger to charge both flashes from one outlet.

This kit can be used with the PhotoMed R2-U Bracket or with the Godox Mounting Ring Set. It can also be used with the ShadowBox.

The Godox MF12 System can be mounted on the end of a macro lens by adding the Godox Mounting Ring Set (as shown at left).

The Mounting Ring Set includes the flash mounting ring and eight adapter rings to fit most lenses. The included adapter ring sizes are 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm and 77mm.

The Godox MF12 System is also available with the PhotoMed R2-U flash bracket.
Flash and Bracket packages are also available with the Ballhead and Wide versions of the R2 Bracket.

The PhotoMed R2-U Dual Point Flash Bracket allows the Godox MF12 flash heads to be positioned next to the lens for intraoral mirror shots and posterior views. You can also turn the flash heads out to the side for anterior esthetic views, smile shots and lab communication. (see photo above)

Nikon R1 & R1C1 Wireless Macro Flash

The Nikon R1 Macro Flash works with all of Nikon's SLR digital cameras, but there are different configurations depending on the model:

The R1 works with the D70, D70s, D80, D90, D200, D300, D300s, D7000, D7100, D7200, D7500, D500, D600, D610, D700, D750 and D800/D800E and D810 cameras which have a built-in wireless flash transmitter and can control the macro flash heads wirelessly.

All other Nikon digital cameras need the R1C1 with Nikon's SU-800 Wireless Controller.

The D100 and D1-series require the R1C1 and the SC-30 cables as these cameras did not support iTTL wireless flash control.

The R1 and R1C1 packages includes a wide variety of accessories:

  • 52mm, 62mm, 67mm,72mm and 77mm mounting rings to accommodate most AF Nikkor lenses
  • AS-20 Speedlight Stands
  • SJ-2 Color Filter Set, SW-C1 Flexible Arm Clip
  • SW-11 Extreme Close up Positioning Adapter
  • SW-12 Diffusers, fitted Storage Case and more.

Shown above is the R1C1 (2 flash heads and SU-800 wireless transmitter) on the Nikon digital camera.

Shown below is the PhotoMed R2-N Dual Point Flash Bracket. This bracket is designed to allow the Nikon R1 flash heads to be positioned next to the lens for intraoral mirror shots and posterior views. You can also turn the flash heads out to the side for esthetic anterior views, smile shots and lab communication.

If you are using the R2 Bracket and you do not need the accessories that are packaged in the R1 Macro Flash Package, you can purchase the Nikon SB-R200 flashes individually and save $150 over the R1 Macro Flash Package.

The R2 Bracket and (2) SB-R200 flashes are also available as a kit - listed below.

Note: Nikon does NOT recommend using rechargeable batteries in the SB-R200 flashes (R1 and R1C1 kits). The rechargeable CR123 batteries that are currently available have a higher voltage rating than standard CR123 batteries and they can damage the flash.

We also carry Stofen diffusers that slip over the front of the flash heads to soften and diffuse the light.

LumiQuest Mini Softbox and UltraStrap

LumiQuest Mini Softboxes are popular accessories for the dual point flash systems on R2 brackets. The LumiQuest Mini SoftBox diffuses light with the flash in the direct flash position. It enlarges the light source 4-5 times the flash head itself.

LumiQuest also offers the UltraStrap - a velcro strap with rubber on one side that wraps around the front of the flash. The Ultrapstrap offers a more secure way to attach the Mini Softbox to the flash and will not damage the surface of the flash.

The Lumiquest Mini Softbox/Ultrastrap Set includes 2 Mini Softboxes and 2 Ultrastraps.

The UltraStrap and Mini Softboxes work with most flashes including Canon EL-100 flashes, Canon 270EX II flashes and Nissin i40 flashes.

Please Note: The Mini Softbox will not work with Nikon SB-R200 or Godox MF12 flashes.

$70.00

LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer and UltraStrap

LumiQuest Pocket Bouncers are popular accessories for the dual point flash systems on R2 brackets. The Pocket Bouncer redirects light at a 90° angle from the flash to soften the quality of the light by enlarging the light roughly 6-8 times over the size of the flash head itself.

LumiQuest also offers the UltraStrap - a velcro strap with rubber on one side that wraps around the front of the flash. The Ultrapstrap offers a more secure way to attach the Pocket Bouncers to the flash and will not damage the surface of the flash.

The Lumiquest Pocket Bouncer/Ultrastrap Set includes 2 Pocket Bouncers and 2 Ultrastraps.

The UltraStrap and Pocket Bouncers work with most flashes including the Godox MF12 flashes, Nikon SB-R200 flashes, Canon EL-100 flashes, Canon 270EX II flashes and Nissin i40 flashes.

They also work with the Canon MT-24EX and MT-26EX dual point flash but only with the R2 Bracket - they will not work with the Canon lens mount that is included with the MT-24EX/MT-26EX because the Canon mount does not allow the flash heads to turn back far enough to shoot out to the side.

Risers for R2 Bracket and Lumiquest Pocket Bouncers
The new R2 Risers are designed to raise the R2 bracket up so that when you set it down, the Pocket Bouncers do not come in contact with the table surface. The Riser set includes a threaded riser that screws into the bracket tripod screw and two risers that attach to the hinge screws.

The bottom photo shows a complete camera system with the Pocket Bouncers attached to the flashes and the Riser set in place.
